FAQ'S

1-  How can I get my child involved?

Online Registration is available.

2-  When and where will play begin?

The 2014 Spring Season TBA.

3-  How much does it cost?

The fee for the 2014 Spring Season is $125.00 per player. This fee covers the entire 2014 Spring Season, including: shirts & hats, greens fees, practice balls during practices scheduled by the coaches, finals and championship.

4-  What about my younger/older child?

The 2014 Spring Season will have the following divisions (boys & girls):
Tour, ages 8-14.
We will refer you to the other Junior Camps that are available in the City for other age groups.

5-  Can I get involved?

Yes! We are looking for volunteers for various Coach, League and Pro positions as well as paid positions

6-  How do teams compete?

The Match Play Format is based on bi- weekly Match Play events. Play formats include Scramble & Modified Alternate Shot.

7-  How are the teams chosen?

A player registers for the USGLL and then must come to a "Skill Assessment" event. Check the Schedule page for dates and locations. Each player is evaluated on their skill levels in Swing, Putt & Chip, Rules and Etiquette. Each player is then given an overall ability rating and placed on a team appropriately. Each team of four players will be evenly skilled with other teams with each team containing an A, B, C, and D level player. Please see below if child is not ready to play on a team for the upcoming season.

8-  What if my child isn’t ready to play in the league?

There are many options available for children to continue their growth in golf including the Jr. Golf Program, Jr. Golf Camps and private and group instruction programs throughout the area. We are determined that all kids who want to play get the opportunity to play or be involved in a Jr. Golf instruction program.

9-  What if my child doesn’t have clubs?

We can assist in supplying some clubs through the many generous donations of used clubs to our local golf course’s and Jr. Golf Program and some golf clubs through our Sponsorship program.

10-  Where/When do the team’s practice?

Practice areas will be announced

11-  Can I / we sponsor a team?

Yes! We have many opportunities for Team Sponsors, as well as District and League Sponsors, and Mentor a child Sponsors, all Tax Deductible and with great visibility to advertise within the community as well as over the internet. If you would like to be a sponsor you can register on line and we will contact you.

12-  What if we don’t live in the area?

Players from surrounding cities,, although eligible must consider the distance to travel for both practice and scheduled matches. Interested in starting a league in your city? Please contact the USGLL at 1-562-496-4653.

13-  Will this affect my child’s Jr. Golf status?

Giving all players the ability to compete and practice their skills as a player and a Team mate can only enhance the future of our Jr. Golf Programs and our High School golf teams giving them the opportunities to go on to secondary schools via the many golf scholarships available. Additionally, the USGLL currently holds an annual National Championship.
